Like I suspected, Paul never tries to prove that "Jesus had to die for the sins of mankind and rise on the 3rd day." He makes a statement in 1 Corinthians 15 and moves on as if this was an axiom. 1 Corinthians 15:3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures , 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures , What also amazes me is that he takes the one thing [death] of the messiah that disqualifies Jesus as the messiah and builds a whole religion based on this failure of Jesus. There were at least 50 messiahs before and after Jesus who were all killed like Jesus who faded into oblivion. If the plan of the messiah was to actually die for the sins of mankind, we should expect A consistent message from G-d in Tanakh that the messiah will come and die for the sins of the people.
