Is there no one righteous? ~ Cross reference of Romans 3:13-18 To Psalm 5:9, Psalm 140:3, Psalm 10:7, Isaiah 59:7-8, Psalm 36:1
I found this passage is Romans fascinating. Why? Paul had to make 5 cross references from 4 different Psalms and Isaiah to come up with the amazing truth that there is no one in the world who is righteous. This is true, We are imperfect humans living in an imperfect world trying to be righteous by obeying G-d's laws as best as we can. Righteousness is a state of a person not something that you achieve as an end state. It is a continue process. Solomon rightly said in Ecclesiastes 7:20 For there is no righteous man on earth who does good and sins not. If you see Paul's theology it is so wrong that once you sin you are doomed and hence you need Jesus's blood to be good in G-d's sight. This is not what Tanakh teaches. G-d says if you sin, get up, dust yourself off and turn away from sin and come to me. We need to continuously seek G-d's help to be righteous doing his will.
