Will god wipe away tears from Christians? ~ Cross reference of Revelation 21:4 to Isaiah 25:8

Image
Revelation 21:4 I think is asserting that anyone who believes in Jesus will be saved and god will wipe away the tears from all the believers of Jesus. I think the belief is that anyone who does not believe in Jesus will first be thrown into hell and then the belivers get to live happily ever after on the new earth or in heaven. What I fear is that by believing that Jesus will save us from sins may be we are offending G-d because in Tanakh, G-d time and again says, repent and come to me and I will forgive your sins. That aside, this false claim that this promise in Isaiah is for people who accept Jesus is not right. The Passage is clear that this promise is for those who worship the ONE TRUE G-d of the universe and give glory to none else. All Images are links to Google Images. Copyright violations not intended. Did Isaiah say that a new heaven and earth will be created for Christians? ~ Cross reference of Revelation 21:1 to Isaiah 65:17

Image
Revelation 21 claims that a new heaven and a new earth will be created and a new Jerusalem will come down from heaven. This chapter is full of amazing imagery of what the future state of the world will look like. While this can be a belief of the Christian faith, this does not align with what Tanakh teaches especially about the claim of Christians and Jesus being the center of this new creation. G-d promises that in the messianic age life will be just like it was intended to be and Israel and G-d are the center of this creation. If you read a few passages after the cross referenced passages in Isaiah you will see that it is talking about Israel and has nothing to do with gentiles who believe in Jesus. Did David prophesy that Jesus will strike down nations? ~ Cross reference of Revelation 19:15 to Psalm 2:9

Image
Revelation asserts that Jesus will rule the nations with a rod of iron. To get support for this claim, sadly, they cross reference Psalm 2:9 which is clearly about David. Gospels also cross referenced these passages to Jesus when he was on the earth. Since that did not make sense as Jesus never ruled, I guess they had to use it to say he will do all the ruling when he comes back the second time. All Images are links to Google Images. Did Jeremiah prophesy that Christians should come out of Babylon? ~ Cross reference of Revelation 18:4 to Jeremiah 51:45

Image
Revelation 18 hijacks a passage from Jeremiah 51 to say that Christians should come out of Babylon [probably come out of sinful living] so they can be saved. There is one other passage in Isaiah that G-d asks Israel to come out of the sinful nations and their practices and return to him. What bothers me is how can gentiles claim the promises of Israel and ignore the commands and curses that come if they do not obey the commands. Will leave this here as I am not sure by what right, the Greek text cherry picks verses and spiritualizes the passages ignoring the passages that clearly say what the original text was meant to convey to us. Will Jesus sit on a cloud? ~ Cross reference of Revelation 14:14 to Daniel 7:13

Image
Revelation 14:14 states that Jesus will be sitting on a cloud with a sickle and for some reason an angel seems to give him the clearance to harvest the earth [I believe the harvest will be believers and the chaff will be non-believers]. Though revelation does not talk about it, I think they believe that the harvest will be taken up into heaven and will live with Jesus for ever. The cross reference to Daniel 7 is missing many of the details that Revelation claims. All Images are links to Google Images. Copyright violations not intended. Why does John get "fall of Babylon" wrong? ~ Cross reference of Revelation 14:8 to Isaiah 21:9

Image
Revelation 14 asserts that Babylon will fall during the end times. This I think is some form of spiritualization of the historical event that happened during Daniels time. If you read Isaiah 21 in context, it is a simple narration of the historical event. What is even more strange is that the Christian belief ignores multiple passages that clearly show that this is a historical event and move this to a prophecy that will happen before Jesus comes the second time. Did Jeremiah prophesy what the Anti-Christ would do? ~ Cross reference of Revelation 13:10 to Jeremiah 15:2

Image
Revelation 13 gives the fate of all the people who do not believe in Jesus. The Anti-Christ / Satan / Devil will have dominion for 42 month during which time, he will kill people with the sword or take people captive. John cross references Jeremiah 15:2 to say that this was already prophesied in Tanakh. Sad part is, if one reads a couple of verses before and after verse 2 they will realize this has nothing to do with what Revelation is talking about. All Images are links to Google Images. Is this child Jesus? ~ Cross reference of Revelation 12:5 to Psalm 2:9

Is revelation 12 talking about Jesus being the male child that will be born? If yes, why should he be born again? Did Zechariah prophesy about the two witnesses? ~ Cross reference of Revelation 11:4 to Zechariah 4:3, 11, 14

Image
Revelation 11 hijacks the 2 olive trees to be the 2 witnesses that preach repentance for 1,260 days and then Jesus will come and destroy all the non-believers is a belief of Christians. Quoting Zechariah to support this is not right though. Read to see why. All Images are links to Google Images. Copyright violations not intended. What is with John & Ezekiel eating scrolls? ~ Cross reference of Revelation 10:9 to Ezekiel 3:3

Image
John gets to eat a scroll that the angel gives him. It tastes sweet in the mouth but makes his stomach bitter. Similar event is recorded in Ezekiel. All I could gather was the act of eating the scroll was to symbolize that the prophecy is now in the mouth of the prophet and he must prophecy to the people. Not much theology involved but only point to call out is that while Ezekiel was prophesying when Israel was in Babylonian exile, and the people of Israel did not hearken to Ezekiel, I guess John has a message about the new Jerusalem and temple that will be in the messianic age when Jesus returns and rules as a king. Did Isaiah prophecy about the Christian martyrs? ~ Cross reference of Revelation 7:16-17 to Isaiah 10:8

Image
Revelation 7 claims a passage from Isaiah 10 to say that all the martyrs of Jesus who died for the sake of the faith in Jesus will have their blood drenched garments washed and they will get to heaven where Jesus will personally lead them by still waters and they will not hunger or thirst anymore. Kind of sad that they pick a passage that clearly talks about Israel being redeemed by G-d and brought back to Israel and tending them so no one troubles them again. How Christians can resort to such practices to claim passages out of context at assert their faith. All Images are links to Google Images. Copyright violations not intended. Did Hosea prophesy what will happen when the sixth seal is opened? ~ Cross reference of Revelation 6:16 to Hosea 10:8

Image
Revelation describes what will happen when the 6th seal is opened by Jesus. He asserts that when the seal is opened, there will be an earthquake and the sun will turn black, the moon will become blood read and stars will fall on the earth. The mountains and islands will be displaced from their place. Seeing all these things the people [i believe all those who did not accept Jesus as their savior] will be scared and hide in caves and ask for the mountains to fall on them.[that would be better I guess than all the things that are happening] A cross reference to Hosea 10 is used to assert that this was prophesied in Tanakh. Will believers of Jesus rule the nations? ~ Cross reference of Revelation 2:27 to Psalm 2:9

Image
Jesus seems to be promising his believers that they will be given power just as Jesus received power so they will rule the nations. The expectation is that the believer should hold onto the faith till the end. I guess this means till Jesus returns. The cross reference to Psalm 2:9 is used to assert that this was already declared by David. Sad part is Psalm 2 is extensively used to say it is about Jesus and here we see that it is being used for all Christians who believe in Jesus. This is far from the truth, as Psalm 2 is about David telling that G-d told him he is G-d's son and if David asked G-d for the nations, G-d would give him the authority over nations. This is exactly what happened, wherein David subdued all the nations around him with the help of G-d. All Images are links to Google Images. Copyright violations not intended. What is with Jesus and the menorah? ~ Cross reference of Revelation 1:13 to Daniel 7:13

Image
Revelation 1:13 states that Jesus was standing among the 7 lampstands dressed majestically. What intrigues me is, the passage that is cross referenced does not have any mention of the seven candles. No major theology involved here so will leave it here. Only point to mention here is that this chapter is full of illustrations of what G-d or heaven looks like. These are ways G-d uses to help us mortals understand G-d. This is just a vision and does not literally mean that G-d has a body, face and wears garments. Kind of sad that Christians managed to make god a man when all the time G-d tells us we need to try be holy and imitate G-d and be more godly. All Images are links to Google Images. Is Jesus the one that Daniel saw coming in clouds? ~ Cross reference of Revelation 1:7 to Daniel 7:13

Image
Daniel 7 is rich with visions about the future and the angel of G-d comes to Daniel and explains what the visions mean. Daniel 7:13 is for sure about the messiah. Now Christians can claim that this messiah is actually Jesus. They have a right to do so. If you read Zechariah in context you will see that it is talking about what is yet to happen when the gentiles come and attack Jerusalem. I do see a couple of issues in this claim though. There is no passage in Tanakh that says that the messiah will make 2 trips. Not sure how Christians can solve this issue. Christians believe that Jesus is god, but if you read some of the passages I have called out, you will see that he is clearly not god of trinity. All Images are links to Google Images. Does Isaiah 53 say that Jesus died for our sins? ~ Cross reference of 1 Peter 2:24-26 to Isaiah 53:4-6

Image
Peter makes a claim that Jesus shed his blood on the cross for people's sins and by doing this all who believe in him are dead to sin and can live in righteousness. He also says that humans have been like lost sheep prior to Jesus dying on the cross and now that he sacrificed himself, we can return to the one shepherd and overseer of the believers faith. He cross references Isaiah 53:4-6 to say that Isaiah prophesied about this truth 700 years before. What seems odd to me is that Peter a couple of years ago chastises Jesus for saying he has to die according to Isaiah 53 and Peter was clueless. Christians claim that the holy spirit was key for Peter to understand Jesus's goal. Isaiah 53 has no markers that say the servant is the messiah. There are 3 other servant songs that are about Israel so why does Isaiah 53 servant song have to be about the messiah?  If you read a reliable Hebrew translation of Isaiah 53 you will see that the servant suffers instead of others. Christians cl...

Is Jesus the Corner, Precious, Rejected, Stumbling stone? ~ Cross reference of 1 Peter 2:6-8 to Isaiah 28:16, Psalm 118:22, Isaiah 8:14

Image
Peter says in this chapter that the believers of Jesus are living stones that are part of a spiritual building that has Jesus as the center. He quotes a few passages from Tanakh to say that this was the plan even before the creation and the Jews just did not get it. He cites that Jesus is the precious corner stone for those whose eyes are open and accept him as their savior. Jesus is the rejected stone for those who rejected him, Jesus is the stumbling stone for those who hear about Jesus but do not accept him. Since peter has covered all the bases, let us see if Tanakh supports this claim. All Images are links to Google Images. Copyright violations not intended. Are G-d's promises to Israel transferable to gentiles? ~ Cross reference of Hebrews 13:5 to Deuteronomy 31:6, Psalm 118:6

Image
There is not much theology involved in this cross reference. Hebrews 13 is a closing letter to the audience. The author is leaving a set of commands and expectations from the audience. That said, only issue I see is the Christians claiming promises G-d gave Israel for themselves.  Kind of incorrect as they claim the promises and denounce the asks of G-d. Did god say he will shake earth and heaven on those who do not believe in Jesus? ~ Cross reference of Hebrews 12:26-29 to Haggai 2:6, Deuteronomy 4:24

Image
Hebrews 12 asserts that god will shake the earth and heaven against those who do not believe in Jesus. He quotes Haggai 2 and Deuteronomy 4 to say that if Israel did not believe the word of god that came down to the earth on mount Sanai, and god shook the earth, how much more terrifying it will be for the people who do not believe in Jesus. Let us see if the claim that god will shake the earth and heavens against those who do not believe in Jesus is prophesied in Haggai & Deuteronomy. All Images are links to Google Images. Did Moses say he was trembling when he saw G-d? ~ Cross reference of Hebrews 12:21 to Deuteronomy 9:19

Image
Where did Hebrews 12 find a passage that says that Moses was terrified and trembling with fear on seeing the glory of G-d. All Torah says is that when G-d started speaking to Moses, the people were scared. They tell Moses to speak to G-d and tell them what G-d said and they will obey. The NIV cross reference is to Deuteronomy 9:19 that is about the golden calf incident that happened on the 40th day of Moses being on the mountain and not the 1st day when the glory of G-d descended on mount Sanai. This is probably a fix that recent authors tried to do to the original context that the author of Hebrews got wrong. Should not the Greek text that is god breathed get such facts right? No theology involved so will leave it here. All Images are links to Google Images. Copyright violations not intended. All Greek Text references are from NIV and Tanakh references are from Chabad.
