Seeking THE Truth

In Mark 13, Jesus prophesies about the destruction of the temple. When Peter, James, John & Andrew ask Jesus in private when all these things will be fulfilled. Jesus give a list of things that will happen before the end comes. Many false prophets will come each claiming he is Jesus. Wars and rumors of war [Nations will rise against nations, Kingdoms against Kingdoms.] Earthquakes and famines. Disciples [believers] in Jesus will be arrested and flogged in synagogues. Disciples [believers] will be arrested and will have to stand before governors and kings [I think he suggests that this will be a good time to talk about Jesus to these leaders] When Disciples [believers] are arrested they should not worry about what to say as the Holy spirit will speak on their behalf. Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child. Children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death. In Matthew 24 Jesus prophesies about the destruction of the temple. When his disciples ask Jesus when he will return at the end of the age, I think they were asking when he will return after being resurrected, he says he does not know and only god knows. Matthew was written around 80 CE and the temple was destroyed in 70 CE. Do we call this prophecy or history? Jesus does however share details of the things that will happen between his resurrection and his return. He talks about false prophets coming and claiming that they are Jesus, natural calamities that will occur and finally "the abomination that causes desolation" will have to occur. In verse 29 Jesus says after all these things have happened, immediately he will come and everyone on the earth will see him coming in the clouds with his angels. He does not offer a timeline when all these calamities will end but the trigger for him to return will be " The abomination that causes desolation " The only reference ...
