Why was Peter so upset that people were rejecting his teachings ~ Cross reference of 2 Peter 2:20 to Proverbs 26:11
Peter seems to be facing opposition from some people and he spends a lot of ink to describe how evil these people are. He does not name anyone but I suspect these were the the Jews who would not accept his claim about the dead and risen messiah. This is quite acceptable as any educated Jew knows that the messiah will be a human & will fear G-d. This messiah will be made the king of Israel by G-d. He will come at a time when there is world peace and everyone knows about the ONE TRUE G-D of the universe.
