The poor you will always have ~ Cross reference of John 12:7 to Deuteronomy 15:11

In Deuteronomy 15:11 G-d says, the poor will always be in the land and so you need to make sure you take care of them. Jesus said, the poor you will always have so this time you take care of me. Given he was going to die for the sins of all the people who believe in him, I guess it is a small ask. Only point I wish to make is the cross reference and what Jesus said do not agree. Have already written a post on this cross reference. Click to read. All Images are links to Google Images. My encouragement to you is that you read the whole chapter of Tanakh that the Greek text quotes so you get the context and understand what G-d actually said. G-d Bless and Seek THE Truth. Unidentified [Matthew, Mark & Luke] A sinful woman [Luke] Mary [not sure if it is sister of Martha or Magdalene] - [John]  Where does the woman pour the perfume? Head [Mathew & Mark] Feet [Luke & John] How much perfume did she pour out? All of it [Matthew, Mark, Luke] A pint only [John] Why does her act imply? Preparing Jesus for his burial [Matthew Mark, John] She loved Jesus a lot [Luke] What will be her reward? Everywhere the gospel of Jesus is preached she will be acknowledged [...

The poor you will always have ~ Cross reference of Matthew 26:11 to Deuteronomy 15:11

The context of this cross reference is that Jesus came to Bethany to the house of Simon the leper when a woman comes to him and pours alabaster perfume on his head. The disciples get angry that she wasted the oil when it could have been sold and used to feed the poor. Jesus tells them "The poor you will always have with you, but you will not always have me." Matthew cross references Deuteronomy 15:11 to justify what Jesus said.  Let us see if Deuteronomy 15:11 says what Jesus said. All Images are links to Google Images. Copyright violations not intended.
