Was Jesus supposed to return before his generation died? ~ Cross reference of Mark 13:14 to Daniel 13:14
In Mark 13, Jesus prophesies about the destruction of the temple. When Peter, James, John & Andrew ask Jesus in private when all these things will be fulfilled. Jesus give a list of things that will happen before the end comes. Many false prophets will come each claiming he is Jesus. Wars and rumors of war [Nations will rise against nations, Kingdoms against Kingdoms.] Earthquakes and famines. Disciples [believers] in Jesus will be arrested and flogged in synagogues. Disciples [believers] will be arrested and will have to stand before governors and kings [I think he suggests that this will be a good time to talk about Jesus to these leaders] When Disciples [believers] are arrested they should not worry about what to say as the Holy spirit will speak on their behalf. Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child. Children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death.
