Did Peter think Jesus was holy? ~ Cross reference of 1 Peter 1:16 to Leviticus 19:2
Peter advises his readers to be alert & live in the hope of the grace that Jesus will shower on them when he returns. I think Peter was expecting Jesus to come back any day soon. He then tells the reader that they need to let go the evil ways they lived before coming to know about Jesus. So far so good, but then he claims that Jesus was holy and so the people also must be holy. To support his claim that Jesus was holy he quotes Leviticus 11 & 19.
