Why does Paul think Jesus is the Goat that takes away the sins of the whole world? ~ Cross reference of Romans 3:25 to Leviticus 16:15
Paul seems to be the smartest of the lot who write the Greek texts. He gets closest to what Tanakh says is the sin offering for atoning for the people's sins. He quotes Leviticus 16 which is in fact the only place in Tanakh that talks about how Israel' s deliberate sins will be atoned for. This does not apply for all nations. Sad part is the goat that atones for the sins of the people is the Azazel[the one that is sent way and dropped off a cliff] and not the the goat that is sacrificed on the altar.
