Triumphant Entry ~ Cross reference of Luke 19:37 to Psalm 118:26

Image
The "Triumphant Entry" is key for the Greek text. All the four gospels have this event recorded to show that Jesus was indeed the messiah that god sent to take away the sins of the people. I have a feeling that this event all the way through the crucifixion and resurrection were later inventions to justify the dead messiah. Click here to see why Psalm 118 has nothing to do with Jesus's entry into Jerusalem. All Images are links to Google Images. Copyright violations not intended. All Greek Text references are from NIV and Tanakh references are from Chabad. This post is not intended to offend anyone's faith but for those people who are Seeking the truth of THE ONE TRUE G-D of the universe to who we owe all our love, gratitude & devotion. My encouragement to you is that you read the whole chapter of Tanakh that the Greek text quotes so you get the context and understand what G-d actually said. G-d Bless and Seek THE Truth. Jesus's triumphant entry into Jerusalem ~ Cross Reference of Mark 11:9 to Psalm 118:26

Image
The entry of Jesus into Jerusalem can be  found in all the four gospels. I will call out a few differences between Matthew's version and Mark's version in this post.  Matthew has the disciples bring both the donkey and the colt. Mark makes the disciples bring only the colt. Mark says that Jesus will return the colt once his entry into Jerusalem is done, Matthew does not mention what Jesus did with the donkey and colt. Matthew makes Jesus ride 2 donkeys, Mark is much kinder toward Jesus.  Right after Jesus's triumphant entry, Matthew has Jesus go to the temple and drive out all the traders, Mark has Jesus reach the temple late in the evening so he brings Jesus back to the temple the next day Matthew has Jesus wither a fig tree in an instant, Mark has Jesus wither it by end of the day. One point that seems odd is, both Matthew and Mark make Jesus go all the way back to Bethany [from where he started in the morning to make his triumphant entry into Jerusalem] only to br...

Did babes & suckling's shout praises when Jesus entered Jerusalem? ~ Cross reference of Matthew 21:16 to Psalm 8:1

Image
After Jesus enters Jerusalem, he goes to the temple and drives out the buyers and seller and starts to heal the sick. Children start praising Jesus saying "Hosanna to the Son of David". "The Pharisees" get offended and ask him if he can hear what these children are saying about him and Jesus quotes Psalm 8. I think Jesus was saying that David wrote about how children will shout out praises to him. Did David "prophesy" about the event in Matthew 21:16? All Images are links to Google Images. Does Psalm 118 prophesy about Jesus's triumphant entry into Jerusalem? ~ Cross reference of Matthew 21:8 to Psalm 118:26

Image
Matthew uses Psalm 118:26 to say that David prophesied that 1700 years later Jesus will enter Jerusalem and all the people will say "blessed is he who comes in the name of the lord". Is this true? Let's examine what Psalm 118 is all about and decide if Matthew is correct. All Images are links to Google Images. Copyright violations not intended. Did Matthew make Jesus ride two Donkeys at the same time ~ Cross reference of Matthew 21:1 to Zechariah 9:9

Image
Matthew does not get Zechariah 9 right. There are several places in Tanakh where a specific fact is stated in two different ways. This is called 'Parallelism' . For example in Genesis 24;16 it says Rebecca was a virgin and she knew no man. Both these statements are saying the same thing but in parallels. Similarly in Genesis 37:24 it says Joseph's brothers threw him into an empty pit and there was no water in it. Here again both the statements mean the same thing but are repeated as parallels.f Zechariah said that the messiah will come riding on a donkey and this donkey will be be the offspring of a she-donkey. He missed this key writing style and makes Jesus get not only the mother donkey but also the colt. The disciples place their cloaks on both the animals and make Jesus sit on both of them and ride into Jerusalem. Fortunately the other gospels fix it and make Jesus ride on one donkey.
