Did Malachi prophecy about John the dipper? ~ Cross reference of Luke 7:24 to Malachi 3:1

Luke also gets the cross reference from Tanakh wrong. He quotes Malachi 3:1 to assert that John the dipper came just as Malachi prophesied to prepare the way for Jesus. You can find the prophecy about Elijah coming before the G-d's glory comes in Malachi 3:23 [Malachi 4:5 in the Greek text]. Why does the Greek text always get such a crucial link wrong? What struck me as odd is John the dipper is clear that he is the voice that Isaiah 40 prophesied and refuses to claim that he is Elijah but Jesus seems to be very clear that John the dipper is Elijah [not sure if Jesus thought John the dipper was the voice that Isaiah 40 talks about though.] But we have 2 issues here. Malachi is talking about an angel not Elijah and Malachi is talking about the Tetragrammaton & the angel of the covenant that Israel longs for coming to the temple.  There is nothing about the messiah in these passages. All that said, let us examine this claim of Luke to see if it is correct. All Images are links t...

Elijah to prepare the way for the messiah ~ Cross refence of Mark 1:1-3 to Isaiah 40:1

Mark is chronologically the first gospel but for some weird reason the Greek text has canonized it as the second gospel. It was written around 70 CE which would be 35-40 years after Jesus was killed. All the 4 gospels have this event documented and I believe it was important for the writers to use prophecies in Malachi and Isaiah to say that Jesus is the promised messiah that Israel is waiting for.   He starts his gospel with John the dipper preaching in the wilderness. John preaches that the end of days is near and that people should repent so their sins are forgiven. He also has a key message that someone greater then him will come after him and he will baptize the people with the holy spirit. Mark quotes Isaiah 40:1 & Malachi 3:1 as the cross reference to say that John the dipper will come before Jesus comes. Let us see how these two prophecies are yet to be fulfilled and I pray to G-d that if his will be, it should happen in our days. All Images are links to Google Ima...

Why did John the dipper say he is not Elijah & why did Jesus say John the dipper is Elijah ~ Cross reference of Matthew 11:7 to Malachi 3:1

Image
In John 1:21 John the dipper says that he is not Elijah while in Matthew 11 & Luke 7 Jesus says that John the dipper was indeed Elijah. There are couple of passages in Tanakh that talk about a messenger that will come before the messianic age begins. Rabbis think this messenger will be Elijah who will return and help identify who the messiah is. The messianic age begins before the messiah arrives and this is the age when G-d will restore the earth to how it was intended to be. The Greek texts use these passages to say that John the dipper was the messenger and make him identify Jesus as the messiah. I see some issues here. All Images are links to Google Images.
