Apocalypse ~ Cross reference of Matthew 24:29 to Isaiah 13:9 & Isaiah 34:4
Jesus gives a detailed picture of how false prophets will come claiming to be Jesus. He encourages his disciples not to get deceived by them. He also paints a vivid picture of all the natural calamities that will fall on the people at the end times. He then says in verse 30 that, suddenly he will come with power and great glory and the elect will be gathered. I think this is what Christians call "rapture". He uses Isaiah 13:9 & Isaiah 34:4 to say that this " dreadful day of Jesus " was prophesied by Isaiah. Let us see if Isaiah was talking about Jesus's second coming and and rapture.
