Jesus entry into Jerusalem ~ Cross reference of John 12:12 to Psalm 118:26

Image
I don't think I have much to add here as this is the 4th gospel that records Jesus's entry into Jerusalem. This is very important for the Christian as they think this establishes the crucial link of Jesus to what Zachariah 9:9 prophesied. Like all the other 3 gospels, John also cross references Psalm 118:26 to say what the people will say when Jesus enters Jerusalem. A few points to call out are In the previous 3 gospels, the people shout out "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!" when Jesus rides on the donkey(s) while in John, they start cheering him even before he sits on the donkey.[I guess they continued to cheer even after he got onto the donkey] Jesus finds a donkey on him own and does not have ask his disciples to get him one or two donkeys [depends on which gospel you read] you so he can fulfill what Zechariah said. John explains that except Jesus no one know about the Zechariah's prophecy [messiah will make a triumphant entry into Jerusalem]....

Triumphant Entry ~ Cross reference of Luke 19:37 to Psalm 118:26

The "Triumphant Entry" is key for the Greek text. All the four gospels have this event recorded to show that Jesus was indeed the messiah that god sent to take away the sins of the people. I have a feeling that this event all the way through the crucifixion and resurrection were later inventions to justify the dead messiah. Click here to see why Psalm 118 has nothing to do with Jesus's entry into Jerusalem. All Images are links to Google Images. Copyright violations not intended. All Greek Text references are from NIV and Tanakh references are from Chabad. This post is not intended to offend anyone's faith but for those people who are Seeking the truth of THE ONE TRUE G-D of the universe to who we owe all our love, gratitude & devotion. My encouragement to you is that you read the whole chapter of Tanakh that the Greek text quotes so you get the context and understand what G-d actually said. G-d Bless and Seek THE Truth. Will Jesus never come back? ~ Cross reference of Luke 13:34 to Psalm 118:26

Jesus says in Luke 13 that he will not return until Israel says "blessed is he who comes in the name of the lord" I think he meant that they should accept him and welcome him, else he will not return. Jesus claimed he was god's son and that god sent him to redeem mankind from sin by dying on the cross. The Jews did not accept him as the messiah they have been waiting for would be a human not the son of god and their messiah will redeem them from their enemies not sins. I am a bit concerned on what happened to Jesus in the last 2000 years. Let me explain.  In the last 2000 years, Christians made Jesus god and we all know there is ONLY ONE TRUE G-D of the universe who formed everything that exists. Do you think the Jews will ever accept Jesus as god? Off topic but I found something interesting in Luke 13 where a group of Pharisee's advise Jesus to hide as Herod wanted to kill him. Jesus makes a statement that he has 3 days work left and when his goal is reached he will ...

Jesus's triumphant entry into Jerusalem ~ Cross Reference of Mark 11:9 to Psalm 118:26

Image
The entry of Jesus into Jerusalem can be  found in all the four gospels. I will call out a few differences between Matthew's version and Mark's version in this post.  Matthew has the disciples bring both the donkey and the colt. Mark makes the disciples bring only the colt. Mark says that Jesus will return the colt once his entry into Jerusalem is done, Matthew does not mention what Jesus did with the donkey and colt. Matthew makes Jesus ride 2 donkeys, Mark is much kinder toward Jesus.  Right after Jesus's triumphant entry, Matthew has Jesus go to the temple and drive out all the traders, Mark has Jesus reach the temple late in the evening so he brings Jesus back to the temple the next day Matthew has Jesus wither a fig tree in an instant, Mark has Jesus wither it by end of the day. One point that seems odd is, both Matthew and Mark make Jesus go all the way back to Bethany [from where he started in the morning to make his triumphant entry into Jerusalem] only to br...

Does Psalm 118 prophesy about Jesus's triumphant entry into Jerusalem? ~ Cross reference of Matthew 21:8 to Psalm 118:26

Matthew uses Psalm 118:26 to say that David prophesied that 1700 years later Jesus will enter Jerusalem and all the people will say "blessed is he who comes in the name of the lord". Is this true? Let's examine what Psalm 118 is all about and decide if Matthew is correct. All Images are links to Google Images. Copyright violations not intended.
