Luke like Matthew & Mark uses Psalm 118:26 to say that Jesus was the cornerstone that David wrote about. He was telling the Jews that David knew 1700 years later the Jews would reject him. How does the parable of the vineyard show that Jesus was the cornerstone? ~ Cross reference of Mark 12:9 to Psalm 118:22

Jesus in these passages is telling a parable of a man who prepares a vineyard and leases it out to some people. They turn against the owner and every time the owner sends his servants to collect his share in the vineyard's produce, they either hurt or kill the servants. The owner then sends his son thinking they will regard his son and give him his share. The people see that the heir of the vineyard is here so they kill the son. Owner then comes with all vengeance and kills the and gives the vineyard to other people. Jesus than concludes the parable to say that the stone that people rejected has become the cornerstone. I think Jesus is trying to say that the owner is god, the servants are prophets of Israel, the son is Jesus and the wicked people are the leaders of Israel [all the Jews who rejected him]. Then how is the dead son the corner stone? He is dead. Jesus does not talk about the son raising from the dead and owning the vineyard or making sure the people do their part of ta...

Peter & John where preaching the good news to the people in the temple courts and many were believing them. So the "Jews" got upset and put them in the temple jail because it was late in the evening to take them to the Sanhedrin. Next day Peter and John were presented to the Sanhedrin. They ask Peter and John by what authority or in whose name they were preaching. Peter is filled with the holy spirit and he boldly witnesses that he healed the lame person in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Let us see if Jesus was the cornerstone written about by David. Is Jesus the cornerstone? ~ Cross reference of Matthew 21:42 to Psalm 118:21

Corner stones are crucial in any building and they are usually larger, stronger, more regular in shape than the other stones that go into the walls. When one draws a string between two corner stones they define where all the other stones need to be placed to build a wall that is vertically and horizontally straight. Cornerstone is mentioned in several places in Tanakh and the context is always about equating the person being spoken of, being important just like the cornerstones are in a building. Let us see if David prophesied about Jesus being the cornerstone. All Images are links to Google Images. Copyright violations not intended.
