Was John the dipper the voice calling out in the wilderness? ~ Cross reference of John 1:23 to Isaiah 40:3

Finally we are out of the synoptic gospels and hope we have new opportunities to see if the Greek text cross references Tanakh correctly. I believe John has a very high level of Christology and it will be good to review them in context.

John the dipper event is similar to the other 3 gospels so I will direct you to the post that already covers this cross reference to Isaiah 40:6

One point to call out is John [church father[s] who wrote this gospel] are very clear and more accurate that John the dipper is the voice of Isaiah 40. They make sure that John the dipper also denies he being Elijah. This does not however solve the issue Matthew & Luke make Jesus insist that John the dipper was indeed Elijah who came to make the way clear for him as it is written  Malachi 3:1 [which by the way is talking about a messenger / angel] Malachi 3:23 [Malachi 4:5 in the Greek text] is where you see G-d saying that Elijah will come before the great and awesome day of G-d not the messiah.

While we are John 1, I wonder how the Greek text relies on Tanakh to prove that Jesus was the messiah and comes up with cross references that are used out of context. For John 1:1 there do not see a need to have this statement supported by Tanakh. I wonder if this was out of ignorance or arrogance.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

All Greek Text references are from NIV and Tanakh references are from Chabad.

This post is not intended to offend anyone's faith but for those people who are Seeking the truth of THE ONE TRUE G-D of the universe to who we owe all our love, gratitude & devotion.

My encouragement to you is that you read the whole chapter of Tanakh that the Greek text quotes so you get the context and understand what G-d actually said.

G-d Bless and Seek THE Truth.

John 1:23 John replied in the words of Isaiah the prophet, “I am the voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way for the Lord.’”[d]

Isaiah 40:1 "Console, console My people," says your God. 2 Speak to the heart of Jerusalem and call to her, for she has become full [from] her host, for her iniquity has been appeased, for she has taken from the hand of the Lord double for all her sins.3 A voice calls, "In the desert, clear the way of the Lord, straighten out in the wilderness, a highway for our God." 4 Every valley shall be raised, and every mountain and hill shall be lowered, and the crooked terrain shall become a plain and the close mountains a champaign. 5 And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh together shall see that the mouth of the Lord spoke. 6 A voice says, "Call!" and it says, "What shall I call?" "All flesh is grass, and all its kindness is like the blossom of the field. 7 The grass shall dry out, the blossom shall wilt, for a wind from the Lord has blown upon it; behold the people is grass. 8 The grass shall dry out, the blossom shall wilt, but the word of our God shall last forever. 9 Upon a lofty mountain ascend, O herald of Zion, raise your voice with strength, O herald of Jerusalem; raise [your voice], fear not; say to the cities of Judah, "Behold your God!"
