Does calling someone Fool, make me a murderer? ~ Cross reference of Matthew 5:21 to Exodus 20:13
- He believed this is how G-d intended us to live where murder does not mean taking another persons life, but that we should live in peace with one another. I believe this is how G-d intended the world to be and this is how the world will be in the messianic age when all humans will know the ONE TRUE G-d of the universe and will not have the desire to sin. So I wonder if Jesus thought he was the messiah and he would usher in the the messianic age?.
- The other way is rather cynical but quite possible that Matthew [Church Fathers] put these words in his mouth to show that without him we are hopeless and hence we need to accept him to be saved.

Matthew 5:21 “You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘You shall not murder,[a] and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’ 22 But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister[b][c] will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to a brother or sister, ‘Raca,’[d] is answerable to the court. And anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell.
Exodus 20:13 You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
- Is it practical for anyone to live in the current fallen state of the world by the standards of Jesus's teachings?
- When G-d gave the Torah, he said one should not murder because man is made in the image of G-d. He also gave the punishment for anyone who murders intentionally and a way for a person who accidentally kills another man to escape from being killed by the relatives of the person who he killed.
- Jesus preached that we should not be angry with ANYONE. I guess this will be even people who exploit us. So anyone can exploit us and we need to keep your peace and not be angry?
- Are Christians living this kind of life or they can be angry and still go to heaven because they believed in Jesus?
- How can Christians claim that Jesus’s commands are light and full of love.
- Jesus said his burden is light and Paul says the Torah kills people instead of giving life. So I guess the conclusion should be that forget about the laws and just believe in Jesus and his blood on the cross and you will be saved from hell.
- Why did Jesus not practice what he taught? He seemed to curse people as fools in the below verses.
Matthew 23:17 You blind fools! Which is greater: the gold, or the temple that makes the gold sacred?
Luke 11:40 You foolish people! Did not the one who made the outside make the inside also?
Luke 24:25 He said to them, “How foolish you are, and how slow to believe all that the prophets have spoken!
