Did Moses come up with his own laws? ~ Cross reference of Mark 10:5 to Genesis 2:22

In Mark 10 "the Pharisees" come to Jesus and ask him if it is lawful for a man to divorce his wife. For some reason Jesus says " What did Moses command you? and not "What did G-d command you?"

In verse Mark 10:5 Jesus says “It was because your hearts were hard that Moses wrote you this law,”

Did Jesus believe that the Laws that Moses wrote in the Torah were made up by Moses?

This post is not intended to offend anyone's faith but for those people who are Seeking the truth of THE ONE TRUE G-D of the universe to who we owe all our love, gratitude & devotion.

My encouragement to you is that you read the whole chapter of Tanakh that the Greek text quotes so you get the context and understand what G-d actually said.

G-d Bless and Seek THE Truth.

Mark 10:5 “It was because your hearts were hard that Moses wrote you this law,” Jesus replied. 6 “But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.’[a] 7 ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife,[b] 8 and the two will become one flesh.’[c] So they are no longer two, but one flesh. 9 Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

Genesis 1:27 And God created man in His image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

Genesis 2:22 And the Lord God built the side that He had taken from man into a woman, and He brought her to man. 23 And man said, "This time, it is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh. This one shall be called ishah (woman) because this one was taken from ish (man)." 24 Therefore, a man shall leave his father and his mother, and cleave to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
  • I am not trying to split hairs here, but if Jesus actually said that Moses made up laws on his own than there is a fundamental issue in his teachings.
  • Every single law that is in the Torah was given by G-d on Mount Sanai. Moses did not come up with any laws on his own.
  • Deuteronomy is the last book that Moses wrote and here you see a long recapitulation of what Israel had gone through in the last 40 years. This book covers, G-d's wondrous deeds, commands & ordinances.
  • If you read Deuteronomy 1:3 you will see that Moses is only conveying what G-d spoke.
    • Deuteronomy 1:3 It came to pass in the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first of the month, that Moses spoke to the children of Israel according to all that the Lord had commanded him regarding them;
  • If you think Moses came up with laws on his own, read below instances where you can see how humble Moses was in seeking advise from G-d even for such trivial matters.
