Is Jesus the lord of the Sabbath? ~ Cross reference of Matthew 12:7 to Hosea 6:6

Jesus replies with the event that happened in 1 Samuel 21 where David and his mean are hungry and near fainting and David asks Ahimelech the priest if there is any food with them. Ahimelech tells him that there are only 5 loafs of holly showbread.
David takes the 5 loafs and gives it to his followers and they eat it and are revived.
Lets see if what Jesus's disciples did was right or wrong and let us see if "son of man" is the lord of the sabbath.

This post is not intended to offend anyone's faith but for those people who are Seeking the truth of THE ONE TRUE G-D of the universe to who we owe all our love, gratitude & devotion.
My encouragement to you is that you read the whole chapter of Tanakh that the Greek text quotes so you get the context and understand what G-d actually said.
G-d Bless and Seek THE Truth.
Matthew 12:17 If you had known what these words mean, ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice,’[a] you would not have condemned the innocent. 8 For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.”
Hosea 6:6 For I desire loving-kindness, and not sacrifices, and knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.
- Did Jesus's disciples disobey the law of Sabbath?
- Did David and his men break the Sabbath by eating bread that was meant for priests on Sabbath?
- Is "son of man" the lord of the Sabbath?
- The seventh day[Saturday] is a day of rest called Sabbath and it is Holy unto G-d. Exodus 20:8
- Sabbath is applicable for Jews and the foreigners residing in the land of Israel. Exodus 20:10
- To rest on the seventh day Exodus 23:12

- Not to walk outside the city boundary on Shabbat Exodus 16:29

- If you see Exodus 20:10 G-d says you are not allowed to do any of the prohibited labor. What does that mean? The Mishnah gives 39 tasks that are considered as prohibited labor. Click to see details of the 39 tasks/categories
- Also note that when a human life is endangered, a Jew is not only allowed, but required, to violate any Sabbath law that stands in the way of saving that person for example, it is mandated that one violate the Sabbath to take a woman in active labor to a hospital.
- Torah clearly says that the Sabbath is to glorify G-d and not made for "son of man" like Jesus said.
- The showbread was replaced on the table in the sanctuary every Sabbath and the previous week bread was to be removed and could be eaten by the Levites only and that too within the outer court of sanctuary.
- Ahimelech offering it to David under the condition that they were not sexually impure means that it was allowed to be given to non-Levites if their life was in danger.
- Were the disciples starving and was their life in danger? The Greek text just says that they were hungry.
- When Jesus said the "son of man" is lord of Sabbath was he saying that he is G-d? if he did the Jews would have picked up stones to kill him as he blasphemed that he was G-d.
- I will not even attempt to explain why Matthew quoted Hosea 6:6 as it is way over my head !!!
