Matthew 26:11 The poor you will always have with you,[a] but you will not always have me.
Deuteronomy 15:11 For there will never cease to be needy within the land. Therefore, I command you, saying, you shall surely open your hand to your brother, to your poor one, and to your needy one in your land.
- Jesus said that for this time let her honor me because you will always have the poor around and you can take care of them next time.
- G-d said, the poor will always be with you so you need to make sure you always take care of them.
- There is no reason to make a federal case of this, but Matthew quoting Deuteronomy 15:11 seemed to say Jesus was justified in saying this based on Tanakh which is not correct.
