Why did Jesus say he is not good? ~ Cross reference of Luke 18:

When I read the 4 gospel, I see that Jesus never claimed to be god so how did the Christians make Jesus [a] god? Though I had been a Christian for 50 years, I always had an issue in listening to sermons where the pastor talked about Jesus being god in flesh.

I think trinity is man made by a bunch of pagan people who had to make him a god as their Greco Roman audiences would never follow someone who is not god.

Anyway this trinity a.k.a "then man said let us make god in our own image" has been as much a mystery the people who created it as to the people they have been trying to explain to.

That said, this is a clear passage that shows that Jesus says that he is not good and only god is good. He also says the way to eternal life is to follow the law. Ideally he should have said "take it easy, in a few months I will die for your sins and if you believe that you will have eternal life".

My encouragement to you is that you read the whole chapter of Tanakh that the Greek text quotes so you get the context and understand what G-d actually said.

G-d Bless and Seek THE Truth.

Luke 18:19 “Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good—except God alone. 20 You know the commandments: ‘You shall not commit adultery, you shall not murder, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, honor your father and mother.’[a]”

Exodus 20:12 Honor your father and your mother, in order that your days be lengthened on the land that the Lord, your God, is giving you.

Deuteronomy 5:16 Honor your father and your mother as the Lord your God commanded you, in order that your days be lengthened, and that it may go well with you on the land that the Lord, your God, is giving you.

Exodus 21:17 And one who curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death.

Leviticus 20:9 For any man who curses his father or his mother shall be put to death; he has cursed his father or his mother; his blood is upon himself.
