Is Vicarious Atonement a lie? ~ Cross reference of Romans 10:5 to Leviticus 18:4, Deuteronomy 30:9
I think Paul is a big liar and what is more scary is that he is the founder of Christianity and the core Christian faith that is based on this mother of all lies. "9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
Paul makes an assertion that Jesus is the end of the law and that god created a new plan for people to be saved from their sins. This new way is though the belief in death and resurrection of Jesus.
The difficult part is, other than Isaiah 53 [which does not have any markers to say it is talking about the messiah], Christians do not have any other passage in Tanakh that says that the messiah will die for people's sins. All 9 clear passages in Tanakh that Christians agree are talking about the messiah say he will be a king, and during his time all the tribes will be gathered, temple will be re-built, the whole world will believe in the ONE TRUE G-D of the universe ...
Christians are stuck with Isaiah 53, which in retrospect matches what happened to Jesus, so they insist that it is about Jesus and then had to come up with the second coming where all the other 9 messiah prophesies will be fulfilled. This concept of 2 entries is no where in Tanakh.
Paul then quotes Deuteronomy 30 to say that Moses said that we need to have faith because the law in our hearts and not up in heaven or far across the ocean.
Let us see if Moses actually said we need to believe in the law that is in our hearts and we don't have to obey the law.
This post is not intended to offend anyone's faith but for those people who are Seeking the truth of THE ONE TRUE G-D of the universe to who we owe all our love, gratitude & devotion.

All Greek Text references are from NIV and Tanakh references are from Chabad.
My encouragement to you is that you read the whole chapter of Tanakh that the Greek text quotes so you get the context and understand what G-d actually said.
G-d Bless and Seek THE Truth.
Romans 10:5 Moses writes this about the righteousness that is by the law: “The person who does these things will live by them.”[a] 6 But the righteousness that is by faith says: “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’”[b] (that is, to bring Christ down) 7 “or ‘Who will descend into the deep?’”[c] (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,”[d] that is, the message concerning faith that we proclaim: 9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
Leviticus 18:4 You shall fulfill My ordinances and observe My statutes, to follow them. I am the Lord, your God. 5 You shall observe My statutes and My ordinances, which a man shall do and live by them. I am the Lord.
Deuteronomy 30:9 And the Lord, your God, will make you abundant for good in all the work of your hands, in the fruit of your womb, in the fruit of your livestock, and in the fruit of your soil. For the Lord will once again rejoice over you for good, as He rejoiced over your forefathers, 10 when you obey the Lord, your God, to observe His commandments and His statutes written in this Torah scroll, [and] when you return to the Lord, your God, with all your heart and with all your soul. 11 For this commandment which I command you this day, is not concealed from you, nor is it far away. 12 It is not in heaven, that you should say, "Who will go up to heaven for us and fetch it for us, to tell [it] to us, so that we can fulfill it?" 13 Nor is it beyond the sea, that you should say, "Who will cross to the other side of the sea for us and fetch it for us, to tell [it] to us, so that we can fulfill it?"
- G-d established his covenant with Israel on Mount Sanai and gave the 10 commandments & 613 laws. These laws were given so that Israel will obey them and prosper else they will be punished. They had to keep the laws from generation to generation unto eternity.
- Israel had a bigger task to also be a light to the gentiles so they also come to know about the ONE TRUE G-D of the universe.
- Christianity of Paul came up with the new theology that we could not keep the law so god sent Jesus to die on the cross and anyone who believes in Jesus will be saved and the law is done away with.
- I thank G-d that Jews did not convert to Christianity but have held onto G-d and are now teaching the gentiles what G-d expects from them. I am one of them who got out of Christianity after 50 years of living in these lies.
- Deuteronomy 30 is about Moses telling Israel that if they live by the law that G-d gave them, they will prosper in every way. He does not talk about believing in anyone or anything but doing what the law says. He is also not talking about sins being washed away and going to heaven.
- Deuteronomy 30:9 And the Lord, your God, will make you abundant for good in all the work of your hands, in the fruit of your womb, in the fruit of your livestock, and in the fruit of your soil. For the Lord will once again rejoice over you for good, as He rejoiced over your forefathers, 10 when you obey the Lord, your God, to observe His commandments and His statutes written in this Torah scroll, [and] when you return to the Lord, your God, with all your heart and with all your soul.
- Moses clearly tells them if they do not obey the law and go after other gods what will happen
- Deuteronomy 30:17 But if your heart deviates and you do not listen, and you will be drawn astray, and you will prostrate yourself to other deities and serve them, 18 I declare to you this day, that you will surely perish, and that you will not live long days on the land, to which you are crossing the Jordan, to come and take possession thereof.
- Moses also tells them the law is close to them and not in heaven or across the ocean, lest they say we don't know the law so we did not do it.
- Paul uses the words of Moses "is not concealed from you, nor is it far away." to say it is "faith and belief in Jesus". He takes away the last part of what Moses said "so that we can fulfill it".
- Paul replaces doing the law with the below belief that Christians need to have in Jesus.
- Romans 10:8 But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,”[d] that is, the message concerning faith that we proclaim: 9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
- This is a big lie based on which Paul pushed his theology that faith in Jesus will take you to heaven.
