Did Jesus have children? ~ Cross reference of Hebrews 2:13 to Isaiah 8:18
This is yet another wrong way of using the passages from Tanakh. Reason is Hebrews quotes part of the passage to make his belief get support. If you read Isaiah 8 it is talking about G-d promising Isaiah how he is going to save Ahaz, king of Judah from Sennacherib king of Assyria.

All Greek Text references are from NIV and Tanakh references are from Chabad.
My encouragement to you is that you read the whole chapter of Tanakh that the Greek text quotes so you get the context and understand what G-d actually said.
G-d Bless and Seek THE Truth.
Hebrews 2:13 And again, “I will put my trust in him.” And again he says, “Here am I, and the children God has given me.”
Isaiah 8:17 And I will wait for the Lord, Who hides His countenance from the House of Jacobs and I will hope for Him. 18 Behold, I and the children whom the Lord gave me for signs and for tokens in Israel, from the Lord of Hosts, Who dwells on Mount Zion.
- The context Isaiah 8 is a continuation of the Isaiah 7:14 passage that Christians claim is about the virgin birth of Jesus. In Chapter 8 G-d is telling Isaiah that the son who is born to him will be a sign of the miracle that G-d was going to do eliminate Assyria when they come to attack Judah. If you read the sign that G-d is talking about that this child will bear namely before he know how to call "father" an "mother" the 2 kingdoms of Assyria and Israel[10 norther tribes] will become desolate.
- Isaiah 8:3 And I was intimate with the prophetess, and she conceived, and she bore a son, and the Lord said to me, "Call his name Maher-shalal-hash-baz. 4 For, when the lad does not yet know to call, 'Father' and 'mother,' the wealth of Damascus and the plunder of Samaria shall be carried off before the king of Assyria."
- If you read verses 6 & 7 you see that G-d says that this attack is happening because of their disobedience to g-d
- Isaiah 8:6 "Since this people has rejected the waters of the Shiloah that flow gently, and rejoice in Rezin and the son of Remaliah, 7 Therefore, behold the Lord is bringing up on them the mighty and massive waters of the river-the king of Assyria and all his wealth, and it will overflow all its distributaries and go over all its banks.
- Isaiah them prophecies that G-d will be strength of Judah and he will save them from the enemies. Any plans the enemy makes will not posper.
- Isaiah 8:9 Join together, O peoples, and be broken, hearken, all you of distant countries. Gird yourselves and be broken, gird yourselves and be broken. 10 Take counsel and it will be foiled; speak a word and it will not succeed, for God is with us. 13 The Lord of Hosts-Him shall you sanctify, and He is your fear, and He gives you strength.
- This is the saddest part. Hebrews quotes a part of the passage to say that Jesus and the his children [presumably, the believers of Jesus] will trust in god. If you read the passage in Isaiah 8:17-18 you will see that Isaiah is going to wait on G-d and see if the sign he got through his son Maher-shalal-hash-baz will come though as G-d promised. Clearly this is not talking about Jesus or Christians is my view.
- Isaiah 8:17 And I will wait for the Lord, Who hides His countenance from the House of Jacobs and I will hope for Him. 18 Behold, I and the children whom the Lord gave me for signs and for tokens in Israel, from the Lord of Hosts, Who dwells on Mount Zion.
