I thought we were formed in the image of G-d? ~ Cross reference of 1 Corinthians 15:49 to Genesis 2:7
Paul asserts that Jesus is from heaven while Adam was from dust. He tries to say that just as we are created in the image of Adam [Adam and all humans are created in the image of G-d] we are created in the image of Jesus and hence will live for ever in heaven if we believe in Jesus.
This post is not intended to offend anyone's faith but for those people who are Seeking the truth of THE ONE TRUE G-D of the universe to who we owe all our love, gratitude & devotion.
My encouragement to you is that you read the whole chapter of Tanakh that the Greek text quotes so you get the context and understand what G-d actually said.
G-d Bless and Seek THE Truth.
1 Corinthians 15:45 So it is written: “The first man Adam became a living being”[f]; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit.
Genesis 2:7 And the Lord God formed man of dust from the ground, and He breathed into his nostrils the soul of life, and man became a living soul.

- This is a wrong statement that we are created in the image of Adam. Genesis says that Adam was created in the image of G-d and so is every human being.
- So Paul trying to bring focus on belief in Jesus, says we are created in the image of Adam that was faulty and when we believe in Jesus we become perfect like Jesus was.
- all these are assertions and there is no passage in Tanakh to support these assertions.
