Sexual purity is important ~ Cross reference of 1 Corinthians 6:16 to Genesis 2:24

Paul is still dealing with sexual immorality in this chapter. Possibly because Corinth had a very strong influence of goddess Aphrodite. Anyway, there is not much to say here as what he said it right.

Our body is the temple of G-d and we should obey the law as best as we can and keep ourselves as pure as possible.

Only point I can add here is Genesis is talking about marriage resulting in children that unite the flesh of both the mother and father.

Paul says that Christians are members of Jesus's body so by have immoral sexual relations, they are corrupting the body of Jesus. He says they should stay glued to Jesus through his spirit.

This post is not intended to offend anyone's faith but for those people who are Seeking the truth of THE ONE TRUE G-D of the universe to who we owe all our love, gratitude & devotion.

My encouragement to you is that you read the whole chapter of Tanakh that the Greek text quotes so you get the context and understand what G-d actually said.

G-d Bless and Seek THE Truth.

1 Corinthians 6:16 Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, “The two will become one flesh.”

Genesis 2:24 Therefore, a man shall leave his father and his mother, and cleave to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
