Did Hosea prophesy what will happen when the sixth seal is opened? ~ Cross reference of Revelation 6:16 to Hosea 10:8

Revelation describes what will happen when the 6th seal is opened by Jesus. He asserts that when the seal is opened, there will be an earthquake and the sun will turn black, the moon will become blood read and stars will fall on the earth. The mountains and islands will be displaced from their place.

Seeing all these things the people [i believe all those who did not accept Jesus as their savior] will be scared and hide in caves and ask for the mountains to fall on them.[that would be better I guess than all the things that are happening]

A cross reference to Hosea 10 is used to assert that this was prophesied in Tanakh.

This post is not intended to offend anyone's faith but for those people who are Seeking the truth of THE ONE TRUE G-D of the universe to who we owe all our love, gratitude & devotion.

My encouragement to you is that you read the whole chapter of Tanakh that the Greek text quotes so you get the context and understand what G-d actually said.

G-d Bless and Seek THE Truth.

Revelation 6:16 They called to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us[f] from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! 17 For the great day of their[g] wrath has come, and who can withstand it?”

Hosea 10:8 The high places of Aven are destroyed, the sin of Israel; thorns and thistles shall come up on their altars, and they shall say to the mountains, "Cover us up," and to the hills, "Fall upon us."
  • Hosea 10, sadly has nothing to do with the messianic age [Christian belief of Jesus's second coming]. It is about the evil of Israel [10 northern tribes]. First verse clearly sets the context of what this chapter is all about.
    • Hosea 10:1 Israel is a vine devoid of fruit fitting for it. When I increased their good, they increased for the altars; when I increased for their land, they increased pillars.
  • Israel goes into idolatry and denies G-d and says they are not afraid of any kings.
    • Hosea 10:3 For now they shall say, "We have no king, for we did not fear the Lord; now what shall the king do for us?"
  • G-d sends Israel into exile to Assyria. This took place in the 12th year of Ahaz [see 1 Chronicles 5:26]
    • Hosea 10:6 That too shall be carried off to Assyria, a gift to King Yareb; Ephraim shall take shame, and Israel shall be ashamed of his counsel.
  • The passage that is cross referenced is about the people of Samaria who will see the destruction of Israel and will fear G-d and say let the mountains fall on us. Clearly this has nothing to do with what Revelation is trying to make it to be.
    • Hosea 10:7 The king of Samaria is silenced and is like foam on the surface of the water. 8 The high places of Aven are destroyed, the sin of Israel; thorns and thistles shall come up on their altars, and they shall say to the mountains, "Cover us up," and to the hills, "Fall upon us."
