Did Jeremiah prophesy what the Anti-Christ would do? ~ Cross reference of Revelation 13:10 to Jeremiah 15:2

Revelation 13 gives the fate of all the people who do not believe in Jesus. The Anti-Christ / Satan / Devil will have dominion for 42 month during which time, he will kill people with the sword or take people captive.

John cross references Jeremiah 15:2 to say that this was already prophesied in Tanakh.

Sad part is, if one reads a couple of verses before and after verse 2 they will realize this has nothing to do with what Revelation is talking about.

All Greek Text references are from NIV and Tanakh references are from Chabad.

This post is not intended to offend anyone's faith but for those people who are Seeking the truth of THE ONE TRUE G-D of the universe to who we owe all our love, gratitude & devotion.

My encouragement to you is that you read the whole chapter of Tanakh that the Greek text quotes so you get the context and understand what G-d actually said.

G-d Bless and Seek THE Truth.

Revelation 13:10 “If anyone is to go into captivity, into captivity they will go. If anyone is to be killed with the sword, with the sword they will be killed.”

Jeremiah 15:2 And it shall be if they say to you, "Where shall we go?" you shall say to them, "So said the Lord: Such as are for death, to death, and such as are for the sword, to the sword, and such as are for famine, to famine, and such as are for captivity, to captivity."
  • Jeremiah 15 has nothing to do with people who do not believe in Jesus. This chapter is about G-d's anger on Judah for the sins they committed. If you read Jeremiah 15:4 you will see why G-d was angry with Israel.
    • Jeremiah 15:4 And I will make them a horror to all the kingdom of the earth because of Manasseh the son of Hezekiah, king of Judah, for all that he did in Jerusalem.
  • Manasseh was a very wicked king and you can read about all the evil he did in 2 Kings 21.
    • 2 Kings 21:1 Manasseh was twelve years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem fifty-five years, and his mother's name was Hephzibah. 2 And he did what was evil in the eyes of the Lord; like the abominations of the nations that the Lord had driven out from before the children of Israel. 3 And he rebuilt the high places that Hezekiah his father had destroyed, and he erected altars to the Baal, and he made an asherah as Ahab the king of Israel had made, and he prostrated himself to the entire host of the heaven, and he worshipped them. 4 And he built altars in the house of the Lord, concerning which the Lord had said, "In Jerusalem I will establish My Name." 5 And he built altars for the entire host of Heaven in the two courts of the house of the Lord. 6 And he passed his son through fire; he practiced soothsaying and divination, and he consulted necromancers and those divine by the Jidoa bone; he did much that was evil in the eyes of the Lord, to provoke [Him]. 7 He placed the graven image of the asherah that he made, in the house concerning which the Lord had said to David and to his son Solomon, "In this house and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen from all the tribes of Israel, will I establish My Name forever. 8 And I will not continue to cause Israel's feet to wander from the land that I have given their forefathers; if they will but observe to act in accordance with all that I have commanded them, and according to all the Law that Moses My servant commanded them." 9 But they did not obey, and Manasseh led them astray to do what was evil, more than the nations that the Lord had destroyed from before the children of Israel. 10 And the Lord spoke through His servants the prophets, saying, 11 "Since Manasseh has committed these abominations, he has done more wickedly than all the Amorites who were before him did, and he caused Judah to sin with his idols. 12 Therefore, has the Lord God of Israel said, 'Behold I bring calamity on Jerusalem and Judah, concerning which the two ears of all those who hear it will tingle.
