Will believers of Jesus rule the nations? ~ Cross reference of Revelation 2:27 to Psalm 2:9
Jesus seems to be promising his believers that they will be given power just as Jesus received power so they will rule the nations. The expectation is that the believer should hold onto the faith till the end. I guess this means till Jesus returns.
The cross reference to Psalm 2:9 is used to assert that this was already declared by David. Sad part is Psalm 2 is extensively used to say it is about Jesus and here we see that it is being used for all Christians who believe in Jesus.
This is far from the truth, as Psalm 2 is about David telling that G-d told him he is G-d's son and if David asked G-d for the nations, G-d would give him the authority over nations.
This is exactly what happened, wherein David subdued all the nations around him with the help of G-d.

My encouragement to you is that you read the whole chapter of Tanakh that the Greek text quotes so you get the context and understand what G-d actually said.
G-d Bless and Seek THE Truth.
Revelation 2:27 that one ‘will rule them with an iron sceptre and will dash them to pieces like pottery’ just as I have received authority from my Father. 28 I will also give that one the morning star.
Psalm 2:9 You shall break them with an iron rod; like a potter's vessel you shall shatter them."
