The poor you will always have ~ Cross reference of John 12:7 to Deuteronomy 15:11

In Deuteronomy 15:11 G-d says, the poor will always be in the land and so you need to make sure you take care of them. Jesus said, the poor you will always have so this time you take care of me.

Given he was going to die for the sins of all the people who believe in him, I guess it is a small ask. Only point I wish to make is the cross reference and what Jesus said do not agree.

Have already written a post on this cross reference. Click to read.

All Greek Text references are from NIV and Tanakh references are from Chabad.

This post is not intended to offend anyone's faith but for those people who are Seeking the truth of THE ONE TRUE G-D of the universe to who we owe all our love, gratitude & devotion.

My encouragement to you is that you read the whole chapter of Tanakh that the Greek text quotes so you get the context and understand what G-d actually said.

G-d Bless and Seek THE Truth.

John 12:7 “Leave her alone,” Jesus replied. “It was intended that she should save this perfume for the day of my burial. 8 You will always have the poor among you,[c] but you will not always have me.”

Deuteronomy 15:11 For there will never cease to be needy within the land. Therefore, I command you, saying, you shall surely open your hand to your brother, to your poor one, and to your needy one in your land.
