The poor you will always have. ~ Cross reference of Mark 14:7 to

All the four gospels cover this event of Jesus being honored by a woman who pours an expensive perfume on Jesus. I already wrote about how the passage cross referenced by the Greek text is just the opposite of what Jesus said.

Click here to read why I made this statement.

Will use this post to call out the differences in the details of this event.
  • Where was Jesus?
    • house of the Simon the leper [Mathew, Mark,
    • A Pharisee's house [Luke]
    • Lazarus's house [John]
  • Who is this woman?
    • Unidentified [Matthew, Mark & Luke]
    • A sinful woman [Luke]
    • Mary [not sure if it is sister of Martha or Magdalene] - [John]
  • Where does the woman pour the perfume?
    • Head [Mathew & Mark]
    • Feet [Luke & John]
  • How much perfume did she pour out?
    • All of it [Matthew, Mark, Luke]
    • A pint only [John]
  • Why does her act imply?
    • Preparing Jesus for his burial [Matthew Mark, John]
    • She loved Jesus a lot [Luke]
  • What will be her reward?
    • Everywhere the gospel of Jesus is preached she will be acknowledged [ Matthew, Mark, John]
    • All her sins are forgiven [Luke]

This post is not intended to offend anyone's faith but for those people who are Seeking the truth of THE ONE TRUE G-D of the universe to who we owe all our love, gratitude & devotion.

My encouragement to you is that you read the whole chapter of Tanakh that the Greek text quotes so you get the context and understand what G-d actually said.

G-d Bless and Seek THE Truth.

Mark 14:7 The poor you will always have with you,[b] and you can help them any time you want. But you will not always have me. 8 She did what she could. She poured perfume on my body beforehand to prepare for my burial. 9 Truly I tell you, wherever the gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her.”

Deuteronomy 15:11 For there will never cease to be needy within the land. Therefore, I command you, saying, you shall surely open your hand to your brother, to your poor one, and to your needy one in your land.
