Are Christians not like grass? ~ Cross reference of 1 Peter 1:23 to Isaiah 40:6-8

Peter is talking about how believers in Jesus are reborn and imperishable through the word of the gospel of Jesus. [Jesus died and rose from the grave and anyone who believes in this is saved from hell]. 

Though he claims it is the "enduring word of god", it is not what Tanakh teaches. No where in Tanakh does it say that the messiah will be a sinless lamb that will dies for the sins of humans. 

I think he and the Jerusalem believers were Torah observant and believed Jesus will soon return and fulfill the messianic role he was supposed to perform.

It is a well established fact that what the Greek text teaches is not what G-d said in Tanakh, so let us focus on why Peter quoting Isaiah 40 is wrong.

My encouragement to you is that you read the whole chapter of Tanakh that the Greek text quotes so you get the context and understand what G-d actually said.

1 Peter 1:22 Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for each other, love one another deeply, from the heart.23 For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. 24 For, “All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, 25 but the word of the Lord endures forever.” And this is the word that was preached to you.

Isaiah 40:6 A voice says, "Call!" and it says, "What shall I call?" "All flesh is grass, and all its kindness is like the blossom of the field. 7 The grass shall dry out, the blossom shall wilt, for a wind from the Lord has blown upon it; behold the people is grass. 8 The grass shall dry out, the blossom shall wilt, but the word of our God shall last forever.

• Isaiah 40 - Isaiah 66 are a set of passages that are about consolation, redemption & comfort for Israel. These passages are very different from the first 39 chapters where Isaiah very sternly calls out all the evil that Judah and Jerusalem have been doing.
• This is such a beautiful chapter where G-d shares his plan to redeem and restore Israel. Isaiah says that G-d's glory will come to Jerusalem and all flesh will see and acknowledge it.
• If you read Isaiah 40:2 G-d is telling that Israel's iniquity has been appeased and that she has been punished double than what she deserved.
• Clearly this chapter has nothing to do with gentiles who believe in Jesus.
• If you read Isaiah 40:11 it talks about how G-d will gather his people like a Shepard gathers his lambs. After jesus came Israel was scattered to the four corners of the world.
• If you read verses 12-31 you see how Isaiah talks about the power and might of G-d. He talks about how he rules over kingdoms, nature and the universe.
• First of all these passages are about G-d and not about the messiah / Jesus. Next these passages do not talk about ANY human being imperishable seed. There is nothing here about people being imperishable. All G-d is saying that he and his word is forever and humans are but grass.
