G-d of the Living not dead ~ Cross reference of Matthew 22:32 to Exodus 3:6
Sadducees come to Jesus and call out a scenario of levirate marriage(s) where each of the brothers die after marrying the wife of the oldest brother. Their question was which brother will have her as wife after resurrection.
Sadducees do not believe in resurrection or the oral Torah, so I guess they wanted to test Jesus and see if he will say there will be resurrection of the dead or not.
Jesus says that there will be a resurrection of the dead and that the resurrected people will be like angels. He quotes Exodus 3:6 to say that G-d is the "G-d of the living not dead" and that the patriarchs are alive and not dead.
Tanakh teaches that there will be resurrection of the dead but not as angels in heaven but as flesh and blood this restored earth. This difference aside, Let us see if Abraham, Isaac & Jacob were resurrected and living with G-d in heaven when the angel of G-d appeared to Moses in the burning bush.

Matthew 22:32 ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? He is not the God of the dead but of the living.”
Exodus 3:6 And He said, "I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob." And Moses hid his face because he was afraid to look toward God.
- There is no passage in the Torah that says that the 3 Patriarchs resurrected and went to heaven to be with G-d as Jesus states.
- Tanakh does not teach about heaven being a physical place somewhere in the universe where G-d and his angels live, rather the belief is that G-d being spirit cannot be contained in a physical space, not even "heaven".
- Heaven is something we can relate to and hence Tanakh uses the term "Heaven".
- Tanakh when referring to "G-d of Abraham", "G-d of Isaac", "G-d of Jacob", is always after the Patriarch was dead.
- G-d spoke / appeared to Abram/Abraham 7 times.

- Genesis 26:24 - I am the G-d of Abraham
- G-d spoke / appeared to Jacob 3 times once when Isaac was still alive but the other 2 times after he was dead.
- Genesis 28:13 - "I am the Lord, the God of Abraham your father, and the God of Isaac" - Rabbis say that G-d says Abraham your father and not Isaac because Isaac was still alive. Other commentaries say that Isaac was very old and counted as dead as the evil inclination in him was gone.
- Genesis 35:1 - God Who appeared to you when you fled from your brother Esau
- Genesis 35:9 - Tetragrammaton
- There are 14 occurrences of "G-d of Abraham...." in Tanakh after Abraham, Isaac and Jacob were long dead.
- Tanakh teaches that "G-d of ...." is used only after the person is dead. Jesus taught that god is the god of the living not dead.
