Was Jesus the Suffering Servant in Isaiah 53? ~ Cross reference of Acts 8:32 to Isaiah 53:7

Isaiah 52:13 to Isaiah 53:12 are the go to passages for Christians to show that Jesus died according to the scriptures to save all those who believe in him.

What strikes me as odd is that none of the disciples believed in the dying messiah and you see this clearly when Peter rebukes Jesus for saying that he must die. Even after his "resurrection", they ask him when he will restore Israel and not when will you take us to heaven.

Gospels fix these issues by saying that after Jesus explained all these things to them after his resurrection they understood. But then you see all of them abandon the Jesus movement and go back to fishing.

Then in Acts you see the holy spirit coming and resting on them and then the Jesus bunch get into action. This does not last long and dies out in 2-3 decades. Paul who never met Jesus, turbo charges to form Christianity he claims is given by the "risen Jesus" and the whole law goes out of the window to be replaced by faith and grace.

Finally the Church fathers take Christianity into Trinity and Idolatry of worshipping Jesus, Mary & Disciples.

Now let us dive into Isaiah 52 and 53 to see why Isaiah is not talking about Israel not believing in Jesus but that the gentiles did not believe in the suffering of Israel.

This post is not intended to offend anyone's faith but for those people who are Seeking the truth of THE ONE TRUE G-D of the universe to who we owe all our love, gratitude & devotion.

My encouragement to you is that you read the whole chapter of Tanakh that the Greek text quotes so you get the context and understand what G-d actually said.

G-d Bless and Seek THE Truth.

Acts 8:32 This is the passage of Scripture the eunuch was reading: “He was led like a sheep to the slaughter, and as a lamb before its shearer is silent, so he did not open his mouth. 33 In his humiliation he was deprived of justice. Who can speak of his descendants? For his life was taken from the earth.”[b]

Isaiah 53:7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he would not open his mouth; like a lamb to the slaughter he would be brought, and like a ewe that is mute before her shearers, and he would not open his mouth. 8 From imprisonment and from judgment he is taken, and his generation who shall tell? For he was cut off from the land of the living; because of the transgression of my people, a plague befell them.
  • Isaiah 52:15 G-d says that the nations will be shocked when the truth is revealed to them. These nations will shut their mouth when what had not been told them they see, and what they had not heard they gazed.
  • The rest of Isaiah 53 they are speaking about what they have been told and shown.
  • If you read the passages in Isaiah honestly, do you think they are talking about Jesus who suffered for a day or Israel who has suffered for over 4000 years. Just read the Tanakh and you will see how their oppression started with Egypt and has not ended till today. Even today nations are just waiting for a chance to wipe out Israel.
  • Jesus was the most popular person during his three years of teaching & feeding frenzy. All the gospels boast of how popular Jesus was and how people thronged to him.
  • After his death he is even more popular that any human that walked this planet.
  • For some weird reason in a flash the "wicked Jews" turn against Jesus because of a few elders [who they did not even like] persuaded them to turn against Jesus.
  • Mark & Luke have the crowds say "Crucify Jesus" while John has the crowd should "Away with him, he is not our king" when 3 days ago they shouted "Hosanna to the King of Israel"
  • Matthew takes it to the extreme by making the crowds shout "His blood is on us and on our children!” and surely the gentiles have fulfilled it by butchering Israel for 2000 years.
  • May what G-d said in Isaiah 52:1 happen in our time
  • Isaiah 52:1 Awaken, awaken, put on your strength, O Zion; put on the garments of your beauty, Jerusalem the Holy City, for no longer shall the uncircumcised or the unclean continue to enter you.
