G-d loves us and he will take us back if we return to him - Key Passages


I have always heard that I am a filthy piece of rag and it is only through the blood of Jesus that I can come to G-d. Tanakh speaks about how loving G-d is and wishes that we return to him and live according to his ways.

I hope these passages will encourage you to come to your G-d & Father with confidence that he will always forgive all the mistakes you committed and take you back.

Deuteronomy 4:29 And from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him, if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul. 30 When you are distressed, and all these things happen upon you in the end of days, then you will return to the Lord your God and obey Him. 31 For the Lord your God is a merciful God; He will not let you loose or destroy you; neither will He forget the covenant of your fathers, which He swore to them.

Deuteronomy 30:1 And it will be, when all these things come upon you the blessing and the curse which I have set before you that you will consider in your heart, among all the nations where the Lord your God has banished you, 2 and you will return to the Lord, your God, with all your heart and with all your soul, and you will listen to His voice according to all that I am commanding you this day you and your children, 3 then, the Lord, your God, will bring back your exiles, and He will have mercy upon you. He will once again gather you from all the nations, where the Lord, your God, had dispersed you.

1 Kings 8:33 When Your people Israel are struck down before the enemy, because they sin against You, and shall turn again to You, and praise Your name, and pray and make supplication to You in this house. 34 And You shall hear in heaven, and forgive the sin of Your people Israel, and bring them back to the land which You gave to their fathers.

1 Kings 8:35 When heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against You; and they shall pray toward this place and praise Your name, and repent of their sin, so that You may answer them. 36 And You shall hear in heaven, and forgive the sin of Your servants, and of Your people Israel, when You teach them the good way wherein they should walk; and give rain upon Your land, which You have given to Your people for an inheritance.

1 Kings 8:37 If there be famine in the land, if there be pestilence, blasting, yellowing, locust, (or) if there be destroying locusts; if their enemy besiege them in the land of their cities, whatsoever plague, whatsoever sickness (there be). 38 Any prayer, any supplication, which will be (made) by any man, (or) by all Your people Israel, who shall know every man the plague of his own heart, and spread forth his hands toward this house. 39 And You shall hear in heaven Your dwelling place, and forgive, and do, and give to every man according to his ways, whose heart You know, for You, alone, know the hearts of all the children of men.

I Kings 8:41 And also to the stranger, who (is) not of Your people Israel, but will come from a far country for the sake of Your Name. 42 For they shall hear of Your great Name, and of Your mighty hand, and of Your outstretched arm, and he will come and pray toward this house. 43 You shall hear in heaven Your dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calls You for, that all peoples of the earth may know Your Name, to fear You, as (do) Your people Israel, and that they may know that Your Name is called upon this house that I have built.

1 Kings 8:44 If Your people go out to battle against their enemy, by what way You send them, and pray to the Lord toward the city that You have chosen, and (toward) the house that I have built for Your name. 45 And you shall hear in heaven their prayer and supplication, and maintain their cause.

1 Kings 8:47 And they shall bethink themselves in the land where they were carried captive, and repent, and make supplication to You in the land of their captors, saying, 'We have sinned, and have done perversely, we have committed wickedness.' 48 And they shall return to You with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their enemies, who led them away captive, and pray to You toward their land, which You gave to their fathers, the city that You have chosen, and the house which I have built for Your Name. 49 And you shall hear their prayer and their supplication in heaven, Your dwelling place, and maintain their cause. 50 And forgive Your people what they have sinned against You, and all their transgressions that they have transgressed against You, and give mercy before their captors, that they may have mercy on them.

Isaiah 1:16 Wash, cleanse yourselves, remove the evil of your deeds from before My eyes, cease to do evil. 17 Learn to do good, seek justice, strengthen the robbed, perform justice for the orphan, plead the case of the widow. 18 Come now, let us debate, says the Lord. If your sins prove to be like crimson, they will become white as snow; if they prove to be as red as crimson dye, they shall become as wool.

Isaiah 9:12 And the people has not returned to the One Who smites it, and the Lord of Hosts they have not sought.

Amos 4:9 I smote you with blast and with yellowing; the increase of your gardens and your vineyards and your fig trees and your olive trees the shearing locust has devoured, but you have not returned to Me, says the Lord.

Amos 4:10 I sent a pestilence upon you after the manner of Egypt; I slew your young men with the sword, with the captivity of your horses, and I caused the stench of your camps to rise, and in your nostrils, but you have not returned to Me, says the Lord.

Amos 4:11 I have overthrown some of you like God's overthrow of Sodom and Gemorrah, and you were like a brand plucked from burning, but you have not returned to Me, says the Lord.

Haggai 2:17 I smote you with blast and with yellowing and with hail in all the work of your hands, and you are not [returning] to Me, says the Lord. [G-d is saying there that he struck calamity on Israel so they come back to G-d. G-d seeks his people]

Zechariah 1:3 And you shall say to them: So said the Lord of Hosts, Return to Me, said the Lord of Hosts, and I will return to you, said the Lord of Hosts.

Malachi 3:7 From the days of your fathers you have departed from My laws and have not kept [them]. "Return to Me, and I will return to you," said the Lord of Hosts, but you said, "With what have we to return?"

Malachi 3:10 Bring the whole of the tithes into the treasury so that there may be nourishment in My House, and test Me now therewith, says the Lord of Hosts, [to see] if I will not open for you the sluices of heaven and pour down for you blessing until there be no room to suffice for it. 11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sake, and he will not destroy the fruits of your land; neither shall your vine cast its fruit before its time in the field, says the Lord of Hosts.

Psalm 80:15 O God of Hosts, return now; look from heaven and see, and be mindful of this vine,

Job 22:23 If you return to the Almighty, you shall be built up; you shall distance injustice from your tents.

Lamentations 3:40 Let us search and examine our ways, and let us return to the Lord.

Lamentations 5:21 Restore us to You, O Lord, that we may be restored! Renew our days as of old.
